Im in day 4 of my working binge. Between two jobs, i work ten days in a row.

Band started 10 minutes ago, i should probably get up there to play!

Blah Blah Blah

So, this weather is putting a damper on my life. We need no school or no morning classes! O by the way, my vikings lost.

My practice went pretty well today. I practiced for a good 1 hour and 35 minutes. My lip started to fall apart the last few minutes though. I also dropped my mouth peice and dented it, FAIL. Luckily Josh was able to fix it!

I started my 10 day working binge today. I worked the Phonathon tonight and tomorrow. Then I work at Sidelines Wednesday through Saturday, Sunday through Tuesday at the Phonathon and then Wednsday and Thursday at Sidelines. Talk about messed up.

Other good news is "The D.J. Smith Band" is going in for a demo February 5th and 6th!! It will consist of songs that are written and sung by me! Look for the release on Facebook/Myspace/Youtube and possibly here

Is this January or April?

Usually when April hits, it gets to be the busiest time of the semester. People have concerts, finals, and alot of other stuff. Right now, I feel April is here. Between working two jobs, practicing, and school, it seems to me that I will keep myself busy for a while.

I had a lesson with Josh Wednesday, and it was a good one. I'm still having pains in my lip so practicing is being pretty hard. I went through my solo and Josh said, and I quote, "that is the best I have ever heard you play." I played the first page of my solo that I will be doing in April for my 300 level audition. I was pretty excited and it just wanted me to practice even more.

Mondays...Ugh

Only thing that can make Mondays worse is having 8 o'clock classes! That class happens to be music theory!!! The weekend was pretty lame. Worked Friday and Sunday night at Sidelines in Wakefield, Nebraska and that pretty much consists of my weekend.

My week is going to consist of "PRACTICING." I'm not sure how much I will get in today due to a music injury! That does sound pretty lame but it happens.

Oh ya, I almost forgot "LETS GO VIKINGS"

Welcome

Welcome to D.J. Smith's blog page. I am a student at Wayne State College and majoring in Music Education. My primary Instrument is the Tuba. Not only will I talk about the tuba, my practice's and solo's, I will talk about ensembles such as marching band, wind ensemble, brass ensemble, and marching band. I will also talk about my other hobby which is being in a band and writing music. I will post stuff anywhere from 3 to 5 times a week.
